How do I get a reference from my funding confirmation letter?

Your reference number may be referred to as a Customer Reference Number (CRN) or Unique Reference Number (URN). Here's where you might be able to find your reference depending on your funding provider:

• Student Finance England (SFE) & Student Finance Wales (SFW): Your reference number is on the first page of your Funding Entitlement Letter, in the top right corner under contact details. It is an 11-digit Customer Reference Number.
• Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS): Your reference number is in the subject line of the funding entitlement email from SAAS. It is an 8-digit number and may be referred to as Reference Number or SAAS ref within the email.
• Student Finance Northern Ireland (SFNI): Your reference number can be found on the top right corner of your Funding Letter. It will either begin with "ref:" or "DSA2/" and is either an 11 or 13-digit number.
• NHS Bursary: Your Personal Reference Number is located on the top left of your NHS Bursary Letter.
• Access to Work: Your reference is usually on the first page of your Funding Letter in the top right corner. It is usually 9-digits long and labelled as "Your Reference".
