How do I add an Outlook calendar to Brain in Hand on behalf of a user?

Modified on Wed, 17 Jul at 3:58 PM

Brain in Hand users can connect their Outlook calendars to Brain in Hand, so that they can see all their events in one place.

If the Outlook calendar is part of a workplace account, the IT team may need to add it on behalf of that user.

You’ll need a temporary Brain in hand user account so you can log into the mobile app. You can request this using the contact form.

You can then carry out the following steps.

  1. Log in and go to the user menu.
  2. Choose 'Settings'.
  3. Select 'Add calendar, then 'Add Outlook calendar'.

You'll now be taken to a Microsoft log-in page. You'll need to log in with your Entra administrator account, then when prompted, authorise the use of Brain in Hand with your Entra instance.

You'll then be redirected to the mobile application, where you'll see the Outlook account is now listed. If you need to remove the calendar again, just select 'Account', then 'Remove calendar' to remove all account data from our system.

What happens to data shared with Brain in Hand

We never store user passwords, only access tokens supplied by Microsoft. The administrator account login is a one-time action. Users won't see this process, but they’re free to revoke access to their Outlook calendar at any time.
