How do I add my other calendars to Brain in Hand?

Modified on Tue, 19 Mar 2024 at 04:37 PM

At the moment, you can add your Google and Outlook calendars so they integrate with your Brain in Hand diary, allowing you to see all your events in one place. We're working on supporting other types of calendars in future.

Once you've brought a Google or Outlook calendar into Brain in Hand, you can add helpful solutions to the events within it. If you then want to edit or delete an event, you'll need to do it within the Google calendar itself (there's an icon on each event that links out to it).

How to add a calendar

You'll see the option to add a Google or Outlook calendar on the home screen (and on any days in your diary that have no events yet) as well as in your settings. When you select the calendar you want to add, you'll see a summary of the information we'll need to access. You'll need to select 'Allow' to add your calendar and see it in your diary.

Adding a calendar only brings events into Brain in Hand, NOT the other way around. When you add a calendar, you won't see the reminders you'd normally receive for that calendar inside Brain in Hand, but we'll be introducing that feature soon.

How to remove a calendar

If you add a calendar but change your mind later, it's easy to undo the process. You can do this from the settings screen in the app.

Removing the calendar will remove the events and associated problems and solutions from your Brain in Hand diary but you will still see your event names on your Timeline.

About your data

We'll only use the information from a calendar that you add for the purpose of adding and managing it in your diary. We won't use it for anything else.

For information about what happens to your data when you add or remove a calendar, read our Privacy Policy.

Adding other calendars

This feature works for Google and Outlook calendars and we're working on aupporting more calendars in the future. In the meantime, if you want to use another type of calendar, you could first link it to your Google calendar, then synchronise that with Brain in Hand.
