What happens during coaching sessions?

Modified on Tue, 13 Aug at 1:12 PM

New Brain in Hand users will receive an email invitation to book their first personal coaching session. They'll also receive a PDF copy of the Brain in Hand workbook, which they can complete either before or during the session.

Coaching sessions are conducted virtually, using Microsoft Teams, and the coach will begin by helping the user to set up and personalise Brain in Hand in the way that works best for that user.

The session will also focus on the user’s strengths, difficulties and goals, to co-produce helpful strategies that they can use in day-to-day life.

If the user has a supporter, they can bring them along too. It’s a fantastic opportunity for that supporter to learn about the system and to help the user to think about their goals, strengths, and difficulties.

After the initial session, the user will be able to schedule regular coaching sessions to keep Brain in Hand up to date, reflect on progress, set new goals and find new solutions to challenges. This regular contact with a personal coach can help the user to maintain motivation and prevent escalations in anxiety.
