Why aren’t my notifications working?

Modified on Wed, 17 Jan at 10:26 AM

If your Brain in Hand notifications aren't working, it's important to check whether it's an issue with the service or with your device.

Some of the following suggestions may sound obvious, but it's better to work through them one by one to make sure.

  1. Is it just Brain in Hand notifications that aren't working?

If you're missing notifications from other apps too, it may be something you need to adjust in the general notifications settings on your device. Make sure your device isn't set to flight mode or a 'do not disturb' setting.

  2. Is it ALL Brain in Hand notifications that aren't working or only some types?

Check whether you're missing ALL your notifications or just some, for example, reminders about events, or reminders to use the traffic lights.

If it's just event notifications, go back into the event and check that it’s set up to send you a reminder.

If it's just traffic light reminders that aren't arriving, check that they're switched on in your settings.

If it's ALL your Brain in Hand notifications you may need to check the permissions for the app on your device.

  3. Finally, check your battery optimisations settings.

Sometimes a device may be set up to restrict notifications to extend battery life. You'll be able to edit this in your battery optimisation settings.
