How can I use unplanned events?

A note about solution packs
You can now create your own flexible and reusable solution content with solution packs. This gives you more control and choice over what works best for you. Solution packs are designed to replace Unplanned events and problems, making it easier to build content that you can use again and again. Don’t worry if you already have Unplanned events or problems set up – you’ll still be able to find and use them in the app. For more information, see How do I create my own solution packs?

Your Brain in Hand diary is designed to include your upcoming events along with any problems and solutions you’ve attached to them. However, unexpected things can still happen.

These might include an unplanned trip to the supermarket, finding alternative transport if your train is cancelled, or bumping into someone unexpectedly and feeling unprepared.

That’s where the unplanned events tool comes in handy. It’s useful to have solutions ready for things that aren’t scheduled but still occur from time to time.

You can access the unplanned events tool from the bottom of the home screen, on the left-hand side. It looks similar to your diary and works in much the same way. You create an event and then add any potential problems and solutions.

As well as unplanned events, it can also be helpful to explore our solution packs. Solution packs are ready-made and offer useful ideas for common challenges that many people that use Brain in Hand face. Unlike unplanned solutions, they can't be edited, but you can use unplanned to create your own personalised solutions.
